Product Designer + Design Manager

Canvs.in is an online community of around 10,000 designers. Canvs has built a team of distributed designers working with us virtually on various industry projects. We call this Canvs Club. The club works with large companies building their flagship products. We have been very heavy in the Indian Fintech scene, working with some of the largest Indian firms like Aditya Birla Capital, ICICI bank etc. as their core design teams.

Tl;Dr : You should be an experienced digital product designer who has managed small design teams in the past.

In length:
Your job shall be two fold.

1/2 : Being a Designer

Being involved in product design tasks that Canvs Club undertakes, as a part of the virtual teams that are working on such design projects. You shall be a part of these teams working on products in conjunction with the virtual teams of Canvs Club. You shall also be involved in Canvs’ inhouse product design tasks.

2/2 : Being a Designer Manager

Orchestrating design and product pipelines towards completion while working as a manger with assigned Club Designers and a product PoC with the business on the other end. Your job shall not be of account management, we don't do that at Canvs. You shall behave like a product+project manager. A product manager because you will sit with businesses and provide product insights, plans and solutions to problems. A project manager because you will be responsible for executing the project end to end as Canvs.

Being a product manager you shall need to have a product background, preferably in product design.

This operating model of a distributed team is very new and has had a great reception with the Indian ecosystem, startups and enterprises alike.

You shall work with the core team of 4 people. We have been lean since the start and don't intend to blow up. We shall keep it that way.

Coming to the risk associated with joining a startup, Canvs has been an EBIDTA positive startup for the last 2.5 years.

Downsides:
We can get fairly competitive and demanding, but that is ingrained in the team. We manage work well, but do a lot of things concurrently. This won't be an average experience. Work load shall be rough, but you'll harden and evolve. :)
