How do we do this? We find the best homes in the best locations, we update the interiors and furnish them out, all in the service of helping people find other amazing individuals to live with. We believe that a great resident experience begins in the home and with each other, but it’s our growing community beyond the home that makes being part of Bungalow magical. 

Bungalow has assembled a team of humble high achievers, working across multiple teams and geographies on a shared mission -- to provide a better Home experience.  On the strength of this team, Bungalow has rocketed to the leadership position in the co-living market. And now we have achieved the scale that allows us to hire a Head of People.
 
We have achieved a lot with the basics, but now is the time to bring on a leader who can focus on ensuring that People continue to be Bungalow’s competitive advantage.  
 
As the founder of the People team, you will start with a fully-built Recruiting team, an implemented HRIS system with an up-to-date dataset, well managed personnel files, and an executive team that believes in the importance of people and culture.  Still, Bungalow is a young and fast growing company, so you can expect to invest time on both setting strategy and working tactically to execute it. 
 
As you build and execute on the People strategy, you will need to account for a workforce that is widely distributed across geographies (with teams in major cities across the U.S.), that includes a wide array of roles (including a substantial number of customer-facing non-exempt workers), and that has grown rapidly over the past year.

Strategic, with the ability to contribute to Executive Team strategy for the company as a whole
Knowledgeable, with deep subject matter expertise in regulations and best practices for teams like ours
 
We expect that a successful candidate will have 8+ years of experience.  Time spent in a leadership position at a fast-growing tech company is a significant plus, as is time spent in the Human Capital group of a leading consulting practice.  






Bungalow is a residential real estate platform providing beautiful homes with great roommates, paired with a seamless digital-first experience for early career professionals. We take care of everything from matching great roommates and furnishing a home’s common areas to streamlining rent and utility payments and handling service requests, removing friction from the rental experience.

In addition, Bungalow helps its residents create a thriving community through exclusive social events and volunteer opportunities. Bungalow is able to offer homes in the most desirable neighborhoods by working directly with homeowners who are looking for a guaranteed income stream but don’t want to sell their homes. This model has helped Bungalow scale to hundreds of homes within a year.
