We design and deliver world-class custom software products and solutions for our clients. We are looking for self-driven innovative thinkers who can mentor and lead a team of software product/ project managers. This is NOT a managerial role only. The ideal candidate will be very hands-on and ‘own’ the clients’ projects. This includes listening to the client, doing white-boarding and brainstorming sessions with them, and finally architecting, wire-framing and documenting the most optimal solutions.
8-12 years of work experience required - specifically related to software product design, systems design, business requirements gathering/ documentation and project management - startup experience will be a huge plus. A professional with hands-on experience of ERP/ CRM implementations will also be a good fit. What you need to bring to the table is process and systems oriented thinking and a willingness to roll up your sleeves.
Responsibilities/Duties
(THIS IS NOT A PURE PEOPLE MANAGEMENT JOB)
- Actively interact with clients as the technical partner on strategic engagements
- Understand clients’ requirements and get their product delivered
- Define and execute a technology strategy for each client that provides what the client needs within a given budget
- Serve as the key technical leader between product managers, the client, and the engineering team
- Engineer and establish systems architecture for software applications including platform requirements and integration standards
- Oversee the implementation, ongoing use and maintenance of all applications; including functionality and decision-making, by working closely with all the stakeholders to define, evaluate and integrate processes across applications
- Strategize system development projects that consider multiple use cases
- Direct, manage and oversee for systems analysis, design, development, configuration, testing, security, implementation, change management, documentation, and support for client platforms
- Serve as “hands-on” escalation point to identify and suggest approaches to resolve project issues
- Ensure that incidents, events and problems get closed in an efficient and consistent manner
- Responsible for developing, distributing, supporting, enforcing, and integrating best practices and technology standards across the organization
- Provide thought leadership and innovation to enable and develop forward-looking solutions that will include latest paradigms
- Provide strong leadership to the various team members through mentoring, coaching, career development, interpersonal skills, teamwork ethic, and enabling leadership skills
- Implement and maintain project roadmaps, including priorities, resource capacity planning, and timelines to support short and longer-term planning with recommendations for maturation
- Required travel: 10-20% (Preferred)
Education/ Experience/ Abilities
- 5+ years of experience leading engineering and/or project management teams
- 10+ years of experience in IT (software development or systems implementation or product engineering)
- B.Sc in Computer Science or equivalent
- Deep domain knowledge and hands-on capabilities in some of the following areas: web applications, databases, cloud environments, networking, mobile applications, software as a service, content delivery networks, ERP, CRM
- Experience managing organizations of 8+ engineers
- Experience managing teams with remote members
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a matrix style organizations
- Strong passion to understand, learn, and evaluate new technologies
- Experience managing large teams including subcontractors and offshore resources
- Able to handle critical situations, conflict resolution and ability to manage budgets
- Hands on with Technology a must and be willing to roll-up the selves and get things done
- Build and Troubleshoot complex solutions hands on with the team
- Help with C-Level Executive engagements
- Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff
- Ability to think and act strategically and proactively
- Strong writing and presentation skills
