Job Summary

As a Mechanical Engineer / Vehicle Engineer you will be working on our new vehicle development as well as helping maintain and repair our scooter fleet. We seek people who are passionate about providing riders with excellent customer service by maintaining our vehicles and continually improving the efficiency of our fleet operations.
The Mechanical Engineer / Vehicle Engineer will have a chance to collaborate with our senior team of designers and developers and learn first hand how the process of bringing a new product to life works.
Additionally, you will perform minor repair and maintenance related tasks at our offices located in TriBeCa (NYC) and occasionally perform those tasks at a different location around the city of New York.


An ideal candidate for this role will be a team player who loves to solve problems, work with their hands.

Responsibilities and Duties
Solve mechanical or electronic challenges involving new product development;
Design new Parts and create drawings;
Performing routine inspection and maintenance of scooter fleet;
Identifying and documenting scooters in-shop repair;
Logging maintenance activity in Brooklyness’s information management system;
Responding to on-demand and in the field customer service requests;
Utilizing available & implementing new technology to optimize day to day operations


Qualifications And Skills
Preferably electric or mechanical engineering;
Mechanical and technical aptitude. Previous electric scooter or mechanical/electrical experience highly preferred:
Flexible schedule including Saturdays;
Highly responsive and detail-oriented;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a TEAM PLAYER. The last is an area in which we DON'T compromise, it's all about the team.

You are in NYC and can commit 100% to the job.

You understand that this is a startup job and it will require working odd hours, and the flexibility to adapt to changes and be relentless when facing difficulties.

Compensation is between $30K to $60K and with up to 1% equity options.
