Berkeley Lights is looking for a highly motivated Technical Sales Specialist to support the exciting expansion of Berkeley Lights business into the APAC region.


  • Achieve or exceed designated territory revenue attainment plan
  • Report to the Senior Director of APAC Sales and provide regular and accurate sales forecast updates
  • Drive strategic business expansion opportunities with customers pursuing improvements in cell therapy, translational research, antibody discovery, and cell line development programs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), CxOs, SVPs, VPs, Directors and Scientists in assigned region, in part by keeping them informed of the latest developments in Berkeley Lights’ technology
  • Act as internal technical expert providing ongoing training to regional sales team and distributor partners in the APAC region
  • Working with regional sales and marketing team, develop strategic plans for gaining new clients while retaining and expanding existing relationships
  • Evangelize and embody our customer success and respect driven culture at all times to external and internal constituents
  • Assist distributor partners and regional sales team in progressing and closing opportunities in order to deliver on corporate goals and objectives
  • Act as client consultant in project design and vetting of proof of concept / feasibility studies
  • Deliver customer, market and competitive feedback to internal teams including marketing, applications development and R&D

Required Skills

  • MS/PhD in Cancer Biology or Immunology required and technical sales experience is a plus
  • Technical Sales overlay to existing regional sales role with a focus on T Cell Analytics/Immunology and Translational Research
  • Process driven mindset with ability to prioritize activities and monitor progress in order to drive towards and achieve organizational goals
  • Team player with focus on internal and external clients ensuring clear communication and setting of expectations for success
  • Strong technical presentation skills for participation in Road Shows, Workshops and Conferences
  • Knowledge of single cell techniques and applications required
  • Capable of communicating effectively at various organizational levels from bench scientist to PI and C Suite
  • Ability to work independently, communicate proactively, coach and train while prioritizing activities in order to deliver on goals and expectations
  • Superior listening and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent negotiation and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain an outstanding level of market, customer, distribution and product knowledge necessary to accomplish sales objectives
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a very high level of confidentiality
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess a positive attitude and an understanding of the dynamics involved with organizational growth and change in an early stage company
  • Frequent travel (up to 75%) throughout the territory as needed
