About the Opportunity

The Senior User Researcher owns user research at Beamery. SURs plan and carry out user research with a range of users and buyers from the C-suite and VPs at global enterprises through to administrators and business end-users. The SUR is adept at taking user feedback from various sources and analysing it to produce clear, high-value, problem-based actions for the product.

You will work as part of a cross-disciplinary team in identifying the highest value problems to tackle on behalf of the company and our customers. You will conduct research that not only informs our ultimate mission, but that also feeds the design, strategy and development for our products.

Some examples of the types of problems we work on include:

* Interviewing senior HR leaders about their roles, responsibilities and pain points and advising on how that should impact potential future products.
* Analysing customer feedback for thematic areas we must/should/could address and working with the design and product teams to come up with actionable solutions to that feedback.

What will you be doing at Beamery?

* Making an impact at scale: we're searching for someone to help us to identify and understand the questions we need to answer to move product strategy and execution forward. With the support of your UX leadership your insights and discoveries will help inform our company strategy, our product experiences and our long-term roadmap.
* Conducting end-to-end research, utilizing a wide variety of methodologies, to help us gain confidence in our understanding of our users (current and future), their needs and the opportunity this uncovers for our products.
* Contributing to the development of a strong and innovative research practice across Beamery.
* Proactively collaborating and working towards quality and validation with the product team at all phases of your projects.
* Designing and conducting various methods of user research, and identifying the best method based on goals and resources.
* All aspects of research (planning, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting) for both generative (participatory design) and evaluative (usability testing) research.

Who are we looking for?

* 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and executing field research and demonstrable impact on business outcomes. We expect to hear stories of how your research influenced product roadmaps and informed design decisions.
* Experience analyzing user behavior through lab studies, field visits, ethnography, surveys, benchmark studies, user analytics, server logs and online experiments (A/B testing).
* Experience with an extensive variety of usability research tools and methods (especially user-centered design processes), and involvement in running a variety of tests.
* Demonstrate strong analytical and synthesis skills.
* You identify as a creative individual who thrives in a team environment. You embrace uncertainty, are comfortable crafting your own research questions, and are capable of identifying the right methodology for the study at hand.
* A demonstrated ability to identify and define opportunities (key research questions) and from there, building research projects that align with and contribute to business needs.
* You have a variety of qualitative and quantitative research techniques in your toolkit, along with the knowledge of when to apply them. More than anything, we value your ability to be creative when thinking about the research problem you're trying to solve, and your ability to bring your team along on the journey of your discoveries.
* This position will need a strong communicator who is able to influence and inspire change. You know how to choose the right research to do at the right time, how to synthesize results into a coherent and truthful story, and how to create effective models that reflect those results, such as journey maps, process flows and personas.
* We’re looking for someone with a curious mind, respectful communication style, the ability to provide constructive feedback, and a willingness to grow as a research practitioner is vital to the success of this position.
* You are comfortable with C-suite individuals from multinational enterprises.
