We are always at the cutting-edge of the application of emerging technologies and methods to assure we maintain our competitive edge in the market. The Data team at Beamery is no different in this respect and are exploring the application of Natural Language Processing/Information Retrieval and related methods to help expand Beamery’s platform capabilities.

We are thus seeking a Data Scientist/Engineer with a core grounding in related techniques in this area with a strong interest of its application towards Recruitment and Talent Acquisition.

At Beamery we gather analytics data and usage behaviour from various sources and tools. This data varies from user engagement metrics, including number of sessions, active devices, and retention to events that define users behaviour and usage. With these metrics, we need to evaluate the impact of product changes — such as modifying the initial onboarding experience — to see which changes improve engagement with Beamery.

As a Data Scientist in the Data team, you are not only expected to develop ETL systems but help in developing the company’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and strategies.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with the business to understand the problem space, identify the opportunities and formulate the problems
- Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of historical business data to help automate and optimize key processes
- Design, develop and evaluate highly innovative models for predictive learning
- Interact with software engineering teams to build data platforms for large-scale data analysis and modeling
- Optimise Beamery digital strategy using Data we gather from all of various analytics
- Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, model validation and model implementation


Requirements
- Passionate about turning theoretical ideas into workable solutions
- Able to Determine meaningful and actionable insights
- MS (PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or in another highly quantitative field
- Hands-on experience in data science, predictive modelling and analysis
- Ability to distill problem definitions, models and constraints from informal business
- An excellent academic record in mathematical and/or computer science disciplines.
- Strong knowledge in SQL and data pipelines
- Knowledge in working with Cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP
- Knowledge in data visualisation tools (experience with Looker is a plus)
- Understanding of web analytical tools
