The Data team at Beamery is no different in this respect and are exploring the application of Natural Language Processing/Information Retrieval and related methods to help expand Beamery’s platform capabilities.

We are thus seeking a Data Scientist/Engineer with a core grounding in related techniques in this area with a strong interest of its application towards Recruitment and Talent Acquisition.

We are using NLP/Information Retrieval and the related subject areas to form a unified view of a candidate to enable quicker, efficient and more transparent hiring decisions. A key part of that strategy is to evolve our Text Analytics layer and need someone who considers themselves an expert in understanding key concepts in the practical application of Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval, Semantic web etc.

- Work closely with the business to understand the problem space, identify the opportunities and formulate the problems
- Work closely with both the Data Science team and the Data Architecture team to make the Data Science models work at Beamery, scale and velocity
- Use machine learning, data mining, statistical techniques and others to create actionable, meaningful, and scalable solutions for the business problems
- Design, develop and evaluate highly innovative models for predictive learning
- Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, model validation and model implementation
- Research and implement novel machine learning and statistical approaches
- Develop NLP/Information Retrieval/Text Mining methods to predict and categorize social and candidate data
- Explore related methods for optimising matching candidate profiles with job descriptions

- Passionate about turning theoretical ideas into workable solutions
- MS (PhD preferred) in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or in another highly quantitative field (Information Retrieval/Natural Language Processing/Semantic Web)
- Hands-on experience in deep learning, predictive modeling and analysis
- Ability to distill problem definitions, models and constraints from informal business requirements, and to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives
- Not afraid to explore and learn relevant programming and IT tools
- You ideally have skills in some of the following areas:
- Spark, pyspark, MLlib, Tensorflow, Hive, Hadoop
- Big Data processing
- Machine learning algorithms
- Data reduction and feature selection techniques
- Comfortable using the AWS or GCP environment
- An excellent academic record in mathematical and/or computer science disciplines.
- Strong knowledge in ElasticSerach, SQL, MongoDB and Graph databases
- Skills in Web-mining/LinkedData methods
- Communication, problem solver, team player, enthusiastic, Data driven
