API / Backend Engineer, Music Solutions

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer who has the chops and soft skills to join our Music Recognition Platform Engineering organization. You will develop web applications running on NodeJS and work closely with front-end engineers to create UX/UI functionality to change the global music industry and music publishing outlets.
As a Backend Software Engineer on the Music Platform team, you will develop and support internal (Agent facing) and external (Customer facing) front-end web applications as well. Expect to work collaboratively with internal customers to determine the best API and backend system design to meet their massive-scalably needs. You will have the opportunity to manage entire sections of our platform by taking projects from idea to implementation. Above all, your work will directly impact the global music industry for artists, labels, and publishers.

What You Will Be Doing
* Developing microservices in C# or Java
* Develop and support Agent-facing and external customer-facing backend APIs in NodeJS
* Conduct CRUD Operations in MySQL / Microsoft SQL
* Conduct CRUD Operations in MongoDB
* Partner with front-end engineers to create UX/UI functionality
* Drive cross-functional partnerships with our design teams on implementing new features and workflows
* Work with front-end engineers to build, deploy, and maintain full stack applications
* Build highly reliable and scalable cloud-based applications
* Communicate status and open issues to team leads and managers

* 3 to 5+ years as an API / Backend Engineer working with server-side web development frameworks
* 3+ years Java or C# to create software as a service API products
* Superior communication chops, both verbal and written, including excellent technical writing and interpersonal skills
* AGILE or iterative development experience
* Demonstrated experience writing unit tests (TDD practices) for backend and frontend services
* Work effectively under stress, independently, and within a team
* A devil for the details, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently

Technical Requirements
* 2+ years of developing RESTful APIs for web-based and client-server applications
* 1+ years of RESTful API development with NodeJS
* 1+ years of hands-on experience with MySQL databases
* Basic working experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB (preferred) / Redis / DynamoDB

Rock Stars Will Also Have
* JavaScript frameworks like React JS, Angular JS, or Backbone JS
* AWS or similar cloud computing environments
* Built and managed automated build/test/deployment
* Docker inside Linux (Bamboo)
* Microservice architectures knowledge
* Robust knowledge of API software design patterns
