The Role:

We're looking for a technical, systems-oriented engineering manager that wants to help us build innovative solutions to support the ongoing success of brands and content creators across the world. As our first Engineering Manager, you’ll report directly to our Director of Engineering (linkedin.com/in/samirchugh) to take ownership over the development of major parts of our platform, such as creator discovery, workflow, and analytics, while building a world-class team and working closely with product managers, designers, QA, and other highly talented engineers. You’ll also partner with our CTO (linkedin.com/in/suhaasprasad) to design our long term technical architecture and system design.  As an early member of the engineering leadership at AspireIQ, you’ll have a significant impact on engineering team culture and product direction for the company.

What you will do:

* Take ownership over the development of major areas of our platform and backend systems (e.g., platform APIs, analytics, database and ETL systems)
* Manage, mentor, and grow a diverse team of skilled software engineers
* Play a leading role in technical architecture and system design
* Build and track growth plans for all of your reports
* Develop standards and best practices for producing high-quality software
* Collaborate closely with product, design, and QA at every stage of product development
* Help to define the technical roadmap and culture for the engineering team

What we're looking for

* A thoughtful and dedicated technical leader that’s motivated to build a great product, well-designed backend systems, and a great engineering team
* A true team-player; someone that can help others grow and excel in a supportive and cooperative work environment
* An excellent communicator that can show an understanding of both technical and product areas
* 2+ years of experience managing a team of engineers
* 4+ years of experience building web applications or similar products
* An understanding of best engineering management practices and processes for a high-performing engineering team
* Curiosity and a passion for ongoing learning and development
* Understanding of design patterns and software architecture
