Product Design Engineer

Aron Lighting LLC ("ARON"), located just outside of Philadelphia, PA, is a fast growing start-up company founded in 2015. Our focus and passion is on the design, development and manufacturing of innovative, energy efficient architectural LED lighting products for the commercial, industrial and residential marketplace.

ARON is seeking a candidate well versed in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and industrial design. These skills are necessary to design new light fixtures as well as improve existing ones. Work experience and an understanding of LED lighting technology, products and business is necessary. We are currently looking for a multi-tasking, knowledgeable and collaborative individual with a positive attitude, great communication and coordination skills; focused and has strong ability to work with a multi-disciplined team in a deadline driven environment. Willing to go above and beyond what's required, work well under pressure and has a desire to succeed.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with Senior Leadership Team to develop product roadmap of light fixtures that fit the ARON Lighting brand
New Product Design and Development from conception to launch
Use Aluminum Extrusion, Plastic Extrusion, Sheet Metal, Die Casting, and Injection Molding manufacturing techniques to design components for LED light fixtures
Maintain and Improve existing product lines
Produce 3D Models/Assemblies and 2D Drawings in Solidworks
Utilize 3D Printing and Shop Tools to produce functioning electro-mechanical prototypes
Interact with suppliers to understand manufacturing restrictions and source components diligently to minimize COGS
Test and Evaluate Designs internally and with external stakeholders
Perform Ad Hoc projects on different products/lines



Requirements:

3+ Years of Work Experience in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering field
Minimum Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required
Previous experience designing complex electro-mechanical assemblies utilizing Aluminum Extrusion, Plastic Extrusion, Sheet Metal, Die Casting, and Injection Molding manufacturing techniques
Ability to be creative and be an integral member of the product development team
Strong entrepreneurial mindset and a willingness to learn new skills quickly


Impress us With:

Prior experience in LED Lighting and Lighting Controls
Proficiency in AutoDesk REVIT Software
Familiarity with lighting standards like CEC Title-24, ASHRAE and IES
Experience designing PCBs
