Applico is looking for a Director to run our M&A team. In the role, you and the team will forge partnerships, investments and acquisitions between our large enterprise clients and up-and-coming startups. You will also spearhead business development initiatives to do deals with institutional funds.
You will lead our team evaluating external partnerships, running deal diligence and executing the transaction. Your leadership and working alongside other seasoned entrepreneurs will be critical to the success of new platform business initiatives.

Our founder led teams provide platform business strategy, strategic investments, partnerships and M&A with tech startups to accelerate your digital strategy. We'll put our fees up against the success of the integration and co-invest into the deals when possible.
-Lead, organize, and position the client to capture the best value and opportunity given their strategic priorities and competitive advantages.
-Drive the canvasing of the startup landscape and the identification of what would catalyze the new platform initiative most effectively.
-Maintain direct, day-to-day, cross-functional, C-suite contacts. Pitch potential partnership/invest/acquire opportunities.
-Formulate investment cases for insitutional funds to take a position in undervalued traditional enterprises because of Applico's expertise in unlocking intrinsic assets by working with tech startups
-Package stories, insights, and business frameworks to mentor Applico team members
-Lead a lean team of associate/analyst resources
-Contribute to internal and external team meetings, and report on goals and accomplishments
-Vice President or Director at a prominent VC firm, PE or boutique investment bank
-Experience with leading deals via investments or acquisitions in tech startups a must
-Experience raising institutional capital a plus
-Appreciates complexities of building platform business network (experience with platform investments/acquisition a big plus)
-Sees the big picture and understands how work fits into overall scope of the company and client
Travel & Covid:
-Applico is working remotely for the foreseeable future. Usually, our two hubs are in SF and NYC and we have an expectation of at least 33% travel for this role in a pre-covid environment.
-A third hub in Florida is a likely 2021 development
-Travel normally occurs frequently to visit clients, prospective startups, etc.
