Ancestry is seeking a talented Senior Marketing Manager to help lead our marketing activity and drive business growth across the German market.

As our Senior Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in building and growing the Ancestry business in Germany. The position reports to the Country Manager, Germany, and is based in Berlin.

The role includes:

• Day to day responsibility for delivery and performance of marketing activity for DE
• End to end ownership of creative strategy and execution of integrated, cross channel marketing campaigns
• Using data extensively to identify opportunities, and to measure, optimise and benchmark all activity
• Working closely with our creative, media, performance and PR agencies
• All aspects of Brand Experience – onsite testing and optimisation, SEO, CRM - working closely with our internal global teams
• Continually review performance, changes to market, consumer trends, competitors and adjust plans accordingly
• Working closely with our Insights team to identify and leverage consumer insights, as well as manage ongoing brand and consumer metrics
• Liaising with internal global teams (including e.g Analytics, Legal, Member Services) to deliver solutions and achieve business objectives

The candidate we are looking for:

• Native-level of German, and strong business fluency in English
• 8+ years’ marketing experience (client or agency side) covering the entire marketing mix and including budget management
• Bachelors or Masters degree, or related academic qualification in marketing / economics / commerce / advertising / media / communication (or similar)
• eCommerce experience; working across a portfolio of products a strong advantage
• Strong understanding of Performance Marketing (SEA, SEO, Programmatic, Paid Social, Affiliate) and/or Media Buying (online and offline)
• Data and analytics competencies - you need to love working with numbers, and demonstrate ability in using data to draw actionable insights and make information-based decisions
• Expertise in building strong relationships, as well as leading projects and teams
• Creative & innovative, with a knack for knowing what will interest and engage a target audience
• A passionate, assertive and ambitious individual keen to further develop their career in marketing, always looking at new ways to challenge the status quo
• Comfortable working in a small team and small office environment; flexible, able to initiate, hands-on mentality & quick to adjust
• Have occasional flexibility with working hours to take part in calls with London, Dublin, San Francisco and Salt Lake City. Also able to travel internationally once or twice per year
• Interest in or experience of family history research or consumer DNA a bonus
