Ample Labs is a non-profit committed to using technology to empower individuals facing homelessness in Toronto, Canada. Our work started with broad research showing that even when experiencing homelessness, most people rely heavily on smartphones to find vital information.

Since then, our team has grown to include a dedicated and diverse group of designers, developers, researchers, consultants, public servants, and community members—all united by a common commitment to using tech for social good. Our first digital product, Chalmers, is a web-based chatbot that helps you find local services like free meals offered at shelters or drop-in programs based on your specific real-time location and needs.

We are looking for a part-time Community Lead to join our team to help continue to make Chalmers the world’s smartest, most empathetic chatbot. We’re looking for someone to help us successfully launch Chalmers in all the various communities we’ll be going live in the fall of 2020! You are an energetic, creative, adaptive and strategic individual who uses a participatory, trauma-informed approach to working with others. You love project management and are open to listening and learning from the staff you work with, co-creating programs with staff and clients and recognizing that the diversity of your teams brings strength and different perspectives to the work.

Oversee stakeholder engagement for launches of Chalmers in different municipalities and regions within Ontario (in partnership with marketing and leadership: ensure we build brand awareness, meet timelines, hit our user acquisition targets)
Project manage and communicate with internal and multiple regional external stakeholders what all of the key launch milestones are and monitor & report on the progress to ensure execution meets the proposed timelines
Oversee and manage all stakeholder relationships within organizations in each region such as city local stakeholders (public servants, social service agencies, police departments, etc.)
Outreach to local stakeholders that will be important for launch in regions and get buy-in for launch; work with each stakeholder to identify which channels we can leverage to hit our user acquisition goals
Ensure there is qualitative feedback captured from key stakeholders during and post-launch to ensure that launch is successful
Oversee and direct all marketing efforts from all marketing channels for our upcoming launches of Chalmers in various cities/regions in Ontario
Oversee the creation of content & copy on channels like: website, newsletter, press releases, social media and partnership driven initiatives

3+ years of experience in a similar role in a NGO/Charity
Bachelor's or Master’s level degree with a focus on community development or social work
Commitment to social change including working to end all forms of oppression: racism, ableism, sexism, classism, etc. Completion of Anti-Oppression, Anti-Racist training an asset
Excellent communication skills: clear written and verbal communication
Creative problem-solving abilities: flexibility and adaptability to change facilitation
Demonstrated active listening, consultation and conflict resolution skills
Proven record of building and maintaining community partnerships
Able to work collaboratively and strategically with funders, colleagues and service partners
Demonstrated commitment to the principles of social justice, cultural competency, accessibility, equity and inclusion
Criminal reference check with Vulnerable Sector Search completed within the past 12 months
Experience working with government, non-profit agencies, and public services

Nice to haves:
Experience in launching B2C apps is a bonus
Experience collaborating with individuals like: graphic designers, copywriters, content creators, etc.
