Ample Labs is a tech non-profit committed to using technology to empower individuals facing homelessness in Toronto and abroad. Our work started with broad research showing that even when experiencing homelessness, most people rely heavily on smartphones to find vital information. Our first product, Chalmers, is a web-based chatbot that helps you find local social services like free meals, overnight shelter, clothing and more based on your specific real-time location and needs. The Fundraising Summer Student plays a critical role in growing the business at Ample Labs. We are looking for enthusiastic, driven, top performers to join a fast-paced, high performing sales and fundraising team. As an effective fundraising intern, your main focus will be reaching out to prospects to qualify and create new fundraising opportunities.


Build and maintain a database of corporate sponsor leads, foundation leads and grants opportunities.
Identify, research, and qualify leads.
Use a CRM to track leads and log tasks and follow ups with the goal of pushing leads through the sales funnel.
Email, cold call, attend online conferences, and setup online webinars to generate new leads.
Cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects and donors, in partnership with the volunteers or other staff where appropriate.
Provide briefing documents and materials, including proposals, for donor meetings.
Report on fundraising targets and goals on a weekly and monthly basis.
Develop fundraising skills through regular training and review cycles.
Assist in the preparation of proposal and report submissions for foundation funding, corporate sponsorships and grants.
Coordinate the stewardship of assigned donors including thank you letters, phone calls, etc.
Position duration

Full time for 4 months
Available to start immediately

Registered as a full time student in a Canadian post secondary institution program
Either a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
Pursuing a Degree in Business/Commerce
Exemplary presentation and communication ability (both verbal and written)
1-2 years of sales experience or transferable experience, including cold-calling
High attention to detail, with a process and solution oriented mindset
Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment
A continuous improvement mindset
