Software Engineer - Security

As a security engineer at Alluxio you will be responsible for designing and implementing the security layer for our state-of-the-art product. This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to impact the success of the company and to grow your career at a fast pace.


Minimum Qualifications

- B.S. degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
- Knowledge of one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, or Go.
- Knowledge of LDAP, Kerberos, TLS, certificates, and/or related technologies.
- Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
- 2+ years relevant experience in implementing security-related systems (e.g., Kerberos, LDAP, TLS, SSL)
- Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, or Go.
- 5+ years of general software development experience, experiences with distributed and/or storage
- Familiarity with general principles around authorization, and protocols and best practices to secure data.
- Working experience with Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Mesos, YARN, Sqoop, Sentry, Ranger, and/or Rhino.
- Experience in addressing scale and performance problems.
- Knowledge of Alluxio and its ecosystem.
- Contributed or contributing to Alluxio.
