Applied Research Engineer
The Applied Research engineering team is responsible for productizing and/or generalizing the output of the research team. This requires excellent engineering (for example: designing, implementing, and scaling a massive-scale distributed computer vision system or speech synthesizer), writing bug-free machine learning code that doesn't just work in research constrained systems but everywhere and on any device, and also helping to build/adjust the science behind the algorithms employed. In all the projects this role pursues, the ultimate goal is to push the field forward.
AI Foundation is seeking to build a platform that opens advanced AI to everyone in the world and not just organizations with access to the best technical companies. In order to democratize AI, we must generalize our research solutions to be unconstrained by compute power, data amounts, time, and scalability issues.
- 2+ years of ML, Deep learning, and general research/model development in Computer Vision, NLP or Speech Synthesis
- Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, Go or similar
- Previous experience deploying deep learning and ML models at scale
- Passion to scale and productize research models
- Previous experience doing large-scale Mobile AI model deployments would be amazing!
Deep learning and advanced AI will usher in a new world, but only if we give generalize these advancements and allow anyone to access will everyone be able to reap the benefits.
