During her tenure from 2015 to 2019, the investor group was ranked in the top two most active angel networks in the U.S. for the first time, including the #1 national ranking for three of the five years.

Claire England is a startup community leader and early-stage investor. She most recently served as Executive Director of Central Texas Angel Network (CTAN), one of the largest, most active angel investing groups in the U.S. with almost 200 members and $108M invested in 174 startups since 2006.
As the longest-serving leader in CTAN history, she grew it into a national model of best angel group practices. During her tenure, the org was ranked in top two U.S. angel groups for the first time, including #1 national ranking for three years.
In 2018, Claire graduated from Kauffman Fellows, a prestigious executive education program for venture capital. She is also Limited Partner in Kauffman Fellows Fund and a Kauffman Fellows Mentor.
Prior to CTAN, Claire built startup ecosystem strategy for SXSW, Tech Ranch, and St. Edward's University. She was also Executive Director of RISE, during which RISE became a Forbes "Must-Attend 2013 Conference for Entrepreneurs.”
Claire is a frequent speaker at innovation events. She volunteers at accelerators, Austin Chamber, and St. Edward's Business School Advisory Board. She has also received Kauffman Fellows’ Leadership Award and Austin Business Journal’s Profiles in Power Finalist Award. She's a cum laude graduate of Texas State University.
