The scientific software engineer will write reusable code to manage the lifecycle of data at Citrine, from ingestion through to machine learning frameworks. These engineers sit at the intersection of materials, software design, and machine learning, building the tools that are used in our open data platform through to customer projects. A background in the physical sciences along with strong software development skills is required.

-Design and deploy data-driven solutions to scientific problems
-Accurately break down and estimate tasks from mockups
-Communicate clearly technical concepts to technical and non-technical peers
-Work with web and infrastructure engineers to put code into production systems
-Support data scientists in their interactions with customers
-Degree in the physical sciences from an accredited university
-1-5 years of production experience
-Experience in scientific computing development, data processing, or machine learning
-Experience with java and scala
-Experience developing in cloud environments
-Competence with git and CI/CD workflows
