Chariot is a Y Combinator-backed startup that crowdfunds better transit routes that are faster and more reliable than public transportation and much more affordable than ridesharing or driving. Since launching in April 2014, Chariot has introduced eight routes connecting Bay Area commuters to the commercial areas of the Financial District, SoMa, Civic Center, Mid-Market, and Fisherman’s Wharf, as well as serving as a first/last mile solution for BART and Caltrain commuters. By using crowdsourced routes, Chariot is able meet the changing needs of its riders and launch new routes based on customer demand.
The customer experience is always front of mind. Riders… · More can book seats for an average of $3, live-track their chariot with real-time ETA’s, and access instant customer support, all from their smartphones. Chariot is also integrated with commuter benefits to allow its customers to use pre-tax dollars to pay for their fare.
