UX Design, Coding, Server Install · A very simple online notes and todo app, I would call it a predecessor to Basecamp, except I am almost 100% sure… · More that the guys at Basecamp have never seen Carpy Notes :)
Basically, before there was Basecamp, and all of the other wonderful team organization products, we at Folium needed a simple place to keep a list of company ideas and a communal ToDo list. So, one night, after researching a bunch of other overly complicated solutions, I got my self a cup of tea from my Favorite coffee shop in San Diego, the Living Room, and wrote a crappy note program, which was later renamed to Carpy Notes for better visuals.
So... be nice. It's about 3 cups of Earl Grey worth of work in PHP and JS (circa 2008), but it did the job for us, and did it really well, so I figured, why not share it with the world. If you are true shoestring startup, and can't afford to pay for Basecamp, you can enjoy 1/10th the functionality for free from Carpy Notes. :)
design and execution · Mounty is a tool for mounting remote shares on OSX. It takes WiFi SSID as an argument, and attempts the connection only if the… · More SSID matches the network the system is currently connected to. It also verifies that the share isn't already mounted. If it is, it returns the location where the share is already mounted, rather then attempting to mount it again.
Mounty is superior to the unix mount command available in OSX because it can store the credentials for the network share (username and password) in the keychain. This makes it ideal for use in bash scripts. For instance, you can make a bash script that calls mounty several times, iterating through all kinds of network shares you connect to on regular basis. Simply add that script to cron, and you'll never have to worry about manually remounting those shares again.
I added the SSID argument so that monty knows to only attempt the connection if the system is connected to the right network, ideal for laptops, if you work in several different locations, and need to access different network shares, based on the location.
This is another one of my side projects for personal use.
Came up, designed, executed. · HyperJump is simple and quick file system bookmark tool for bash shell, written in bash. This is a personal project I… · More designed for my self to create a "virtual file system" for server management. This way, no matter what architecture I am on, I can always find the right directory without any additional cognitive load.
For instance, typing "jj nginxConf" on any of the servers I manage takes me to the NginX Server Config directory. Basically, a memory aid.
iOS Developer, UX Designer · Simplify your life with Simplifi, a simple, super easy-to-use, task list and project management app with 7 beautiful and… · More colorful themes. Because managing your task list should not be a task in itself! Set progress on your tasks, type in landscape mode, and manage categories using a simple gesture driven interface. Save time and get more things done!
Simplifi was created by Kiwi Bird Ventures as a side project for internal use. After trying numerous project management / to-do lists available in the app store we found most of them to be much too complicated for our needs. So we decided to make a simple app that puts your tasks on the main screen and hides all of the unnecessary UI interface. Simplifi is simple and to the point and we hope you will enjoy it.
Ready to Fly Racing Drone capable of 100MPH+ Speeds
We built Tanky to give YOU full control. Tanky does exactly what you want it to do, when you want it. It can go incredibly fast, flip, roll, and race through… · More the trees. Tanky lets you truly experience flight, not just observe it.
In 2008 I graduated from law school and passed the California Bar. I hold the distinction of being the only person to take the bar exam in a lazy boy :) The actual practice of law didn't appeal to me much. Instead I organized Folium, a firm that specialized in paperless solutions. We handled paperless migration for the California Forestry Service and the Four Seasons Resort Aviara.
After building up the firm I sold it to my partner and moved out to an off the grid house in the middle of the high desert close to the beautiful Joshua Tree National Park. While here I worked with Mail In The Box, a mail delivery notification service. Ultimately the project did not succeed, but I learned a ton.
My latest project is Tanky Drone. All electronic / industrial design for Tanky was done by yours truly. As a Kickstarter it didn't workout, though we did raise over $100k, but we are currently talking to a few well known manufacturers who are potentially interested in acquiring the rights to Tanky.
