I started out at Bindo (50M+ mPOS startup in NY) as Employee #1 in 2013, charged with a) founding our Asia sales operations, b) creating and managing our user acquisition strategy globally. During that time, I hired and managed a 15-person sales team, building sales from $0 to $3M, helping sign on major accounts (Domino’s, 600-store franchise)
I launched partnerships with 50+ channel partners, including banks, ISOs, telcos, and eCommerce startups.
I successfully transitioned our company user acquisition strategy from 100% cold-calling to 70% inbound from our online leadgen website, cutting down our sales cycle from 3 months to 2-4 weeks, and slashing our CAC by 70% to $1,300 (beating the industry avg). I also grew our global customer base from 700 to 3,000 merchants.
As founding team member, I took charge of PR and fundraising and won the Startups Asia 2014 competition (Asia version of TC Disrupt), which allowed me to single-handledly raise US$ 1.8M of the $3.8M seed round.
