Being available in various seating capacities (2-, 4-, and 6-seater), these shuttles can be used for on-demand (Uber like) private mobility within campuses through a mobile app as well as a mass transit shuttle.
Equipped with advanced sensors such as 3D lasers & camera and powerful computers running intelligent algorithms, the shuttles have been purposefully build for crowded campus environments and can safely operate under mild traffic conditions, including motor vehicles, pedestrians, stationary objects and other road hazards. Auro shuttles can detect & track obstacles with centimeter level accuracy up to 100 meters in all directions, and have zero blind spots.
We use laser based 3D Mapping and SLAM technology to determine the shuttle position with 10 cm accuracy. Our shuttles work even in environments where GPS typically fails such as under heavy tree cover, high rise buildings, tunnels and cloudy weather scenarios.
All our shuttles meet DMV chassis requirements for vehicles allowed on roads with 35 mph speed limit. Powered by Li-ion batteries, they can go up to 25 mph themselves, and can travel up to 90 miles on a single charge.
The shuttles themselves have no steering wheel, brake or gas peddles, but do come with a joystick for direct human control in case of emergency. Besides this, a ton of safety features have been included in the shuttle design, such as multiple emergency stops, fail safe brakes, health monitoring system etc.
In addition to mobile app, the shuttles come with vertically integrated software tool chain for fleet management, remote monitoring, real time information sharing with 3rd parties and data logging.
Over time, the shuttles will receive continuous over-the-air software updates via 4G/Wi-Fi at no additional cost. The shuttles will come with all the necessary hardware to make use of these updates.
