Founder, Co-founder and CEO
2013 - Present (about 6 years)
I am the co-founder of HartNamtemah, a startup investment and mentoring firm that specializes in working with startups in Africa and other emerging markets. As HartNamtemah’s...more CEO and President, I provide the firm with strategic direction and work to uncover promising startups and investment opportunities. In addition, I mentor young entrepreneurs in Africa and help them obtain funding to bring their ideas to market.
My name is Rodrigue Fouafou and I am an entrepreneur, startup investor, and business mentor. Currently, I am the CEO and President of HartNamtemah, Inc., a startup advising and investment firm based in Toronto, Canada that I co-founded.
At HartNamtemah, we uncover remarkable business and investment opportunities in Africa and foster the growth and success of innovative African startups. We have worked with many different ventures in Africa and other emerging markets. Some noteworthy startups we have funded and mentored include Njorku, a Cameroon-based job search engine and aggregator for African job seekers, and Kiro’o Games, an up-and-coming video game studio in Cameroon.
I started off my career as a software engineer after graduating with honors from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering. After a few successful years working at IBM and Nortel, I resigned to help launch an online publishing company known as Vertamin, Inc. I served as a chief operating officer and member of the board at Vitamin, leading the company to generate a record-breaking $5+ million in revenue in 2012. My foray into online marketing indirectly led me to the world of African tech startups.
