We are looking for exceptional software engineers interested in early stage opportunities in data mining and machine learning for our industry leading churn prediction and retention marketing products.
As part of our small team, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of Adazza’s churn prediction backend. This system supports the scheduled upload of customer data, transformation into features, fitting of churn prediction and segment analysis models, and generation of results dashboards and reports. You will work closely with our chief architect to design and improve models and build the data pipeline that makes our products work.

You should be comfortable working with a wide range of technologies and able to quickly and eagerly learn new systems and skills as the need arises. Above all, you will need to think like an owner: anticipating customers’ needs for new features and solving problems before others even recognize them.
To be considered, candidates must have experience with:
- Developing software that runs on distributed big data systems like Hadoop,
- Pig and/or Spark.
- AWS data processing and analysis tools: specifically EMR, Redshift and RDS.
- Building ETL tools and pipelines.
- Java, Scala, Python and/or R (the languages used in various parts of our codebase).
Desirable skills include:
- Application of Machine Learning technologies to large scale, real world data problems.
- Expertise with open source ML frameworks such as R, MLLib, Weka, etc.
- Experience with churn prediction, social network analysis, lifetime value estimation, or survival analysis.
- Experience with Data Warehouse design and operation.
