Every day, tens of thousands of filmmakers, writers and artists use FilmFreeway to discover, submit their work, and get tickets to over 10,000 film festivals and creative contests all over the world.
We are looking for a passionate engineer to help us take our company to the next level and continue to build and optimize the best user-focused product of its kind.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
Collaborate with designers and product developers to conceptualize and build new features end-to-end
Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems
Establish processes for ensuring maintainability of new code and bringing old code into new standards via refactor and replacement
Continuously monitor and improve our existing solutions to optimize performance and provide a seamless user experience
Integrate high levels of automated test coverage into workflows
Implement code review and continuous integration from a bottom-up approach with other developers
Have a passion for staying up-to-date with current technologies in web development
YOU SHOULD HAVE:
4+ years of experience shipping software in a professional team setting
Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Passion for writing well-architected, readable code that's easy to maintain by a team of developers
Ability to implement automated testing into your code
Good understanding of object-oriented programming & server-side templating languages
Experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL)
Ability to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
Experience using Linux-based operating systems and comfortable using command-line tools
A knack for troubleshooting & resolving technical issues in development and production
A degree in Computer Science or similar field of study is preferred, but not required
You are available full-time, live in Las Vegas or are willing to relocate. This is NOT a remote position.
