SafeAI is in search of a Staff Software Engineer to spearhead the development of simulation systems and products pivotal for advancing our autonomous driving technology with unwavering confidence. Within our team, you'll tackle numerous novel simulation challenges, employing innovative and creative solutions. Operating within a highly collaborative environment, you'll collaborate closely with teams across the stack, driving initiatives to expedite our journey toward deploying the most robust autonomy system. Key Responsibilities· Leverage synthetic techniques to craft scalable solutions that broaden scenario coverage· Build the simulation framework to seamlessly integrate third-party software with in-house components, enhancing overall runtime efficiency· Facilitate seamless integration of simulation tools into engineers' daily workflows, embedding them deeply within the autonomy technical stack’s validation· Empower the entire team to rigorously validate functionalities and ensure safety· Forge close partnerships with autonomy engineers, cultivating a deep understanding of autonomy mechanisms to formulate optimal solutions Minimum Qualifications· B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, software engineering, or related field· 5+ years of industry experience in software development· Proficient in modern C++ and Python· Good sense of systems and data-oriented design· Understanding of common software performance issues and design tradeoffs· Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with product, QA, program, etc.· Have a high standard of technical excellence, maintaining and raising the technical bar for the team Preferred Qualifications· Broader knowledge of the autonomy stack (planning, perception, mapping, localization, etc.)· Hands-on experience building large-scale distributed systems· Knowledge of linear algebra, computational geometry, or numerical methods· Experience with vehicle dynamics· Experience with ROS/ROS2
The base salary range for this position is $150K-$200K per year. SafeAI’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
