The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Developer Experience team. Our team’s mission is to improve the productivity of our engineering teams, by creating the platform, tools, practices, and documentation that ensure stability, predictability, and autonomy.

This role is part of our Developer Productivity unit, whose mission is to enable our development teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences with ease, substantial autonomy and reduced cognitive load, by providing them with the interfaces that allow them to build, test, ship, and operate their services across the whole development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of software development and delivery lifecycle, is excited about making internal tools to improve the lives of fellow developers, is passionate about creating high-quality and easy-to-use software, and enjoys working with others.

The Developer Experience team is a relatively new branch globally and in AlphaSense, with plenty of green field development and research to be done, which provides an opportunity to have a huge impact on our engineering culture and raise the overall engineering maturity of the whole company.

Responsibilities

• Continuously engage with the engineering teams to ensure that our solutions address the developer needs, and optimize for best developer experience across the whole development lifecycle
• Advocate, support, and document the solutions, practices and processes developed by the team through hands-on engagements with engineering teams, creating trainings, and contributing to our internal Developer Web Portal
• Create and maintain solutions, practices and processes that streamline the development workflow and simplify software delivery - common CI/CD pipelines, CLI tools, and more
• Stay up to date with tools, methodologies and processes in the platform engineering and development experience landscape to continuously research, evaluate, and prototype new solutions to help improve developer productivity and happiness

Requirements

• Great leadership skills exemplifying effective communication, driving for alignment, and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
• Creative and inquisitive mindset, with a passion for problem-solving, comfortable jumping into unfamiliar waters when researching new solutions and creating proofs of concept
• Passion for software engineering and building solutions with quality, maintainability and scalability in mind
• Have 5+ years of experience in software development, preferably using Go and/or Python
• Solid understanding and experience working with pipeline automation and CI/CD systems
• Solid Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

Nice to have

• Experience with Cloud APIs - AWS, Azure or GCP
• Familiarity with GitOps concept
• Experience with ArgoCD, GitHub Actions
• Experience creating Slack bots and integrations
