Michael ShermanThe Role
Michael Sherman, founder and CEO of LetterDash, on-demand legal services company, is looking to solve a new problem - and wants to bring an entrepreneurial minded attorney on board to go through this journey with him.
Hundreds of attorneys are either looking for work, employment or want to build a private practice. Then you have hundreds and thousands of potential clients seeking an attorney. Yet the process of finding, communicating and quickly retaining an attorney to do ANYTHING is excruciating on the client side, if not literally impossible in most cases.
Problems:
- there's no good place to vet/qualify the potential client
- then there's no good place for the two parties to connect once qualified
- then there's the problem of clients that DO find ways to connect with attorneys - those attorneys either (a) do not reply -80% (b) take a week to reply - 10% (c) want $500/hour or $5,000 upfront retainer (d) are uninterested in the case
- then you have the issue of fee splitting
Michael wants a cofounder to help him solve this problem.
The role will be primarily be giving Michael strategic feedback to figure out HOW to solve this problem. What functionality will the website have? How will it function? How will the two parties use it? What other industries have solved a similar problem and can we use whatever type of website functionality that other industry uses for the legal space to solve this problem?
Michael will provide all of the financing, resources and execution. The cofounder will simply act as a sounding board initially but as things progress, roles/compensations can be reconsidered accordingly.
