How do I hide my profile from investors while I'm working on it?
A new startup profile is initially in "draft" mode, meaning that it's hidden from everyone except your team. Once it's published, the fundraising section of the profile will be visible to the investors you selected in the investor picker. The rest of your profile will be visible to the public.
How do I prevent investors from stealing my idea?
If you're seemingly fund-able (e.g. you previously started a company that made lots of money for its investors), don't add a lot of confidential info to your profile. If you're not obviously fund-able, consider the risk of sharing your idea to be a cost of doing business. If you're not willing to take on this risk, don't use AngelList. Also keep in mind that it is rare for someone to care enough about your idea to "steal" it.
How do I create more than one startup profile?
Go to http://angel.co/intro. There's also a link on your user profile.
How do I contact investors?
You can message people who follow you or your startup. You can also ask people on your team (e.g. your advisors) to message people on your behalf. The AngelList admins may also give you permission to message certain people. Finally, you can message anyone who messages you first.
What's the status of my startup profile?
If scouts and investors are interested in taking an intro to your startup, or sharing it with their followers, you'll hear from one of them a few days after you publish your profile. If you don't hear back by then, assume you're not ready for intros or sharing yet. Please keep updating your profile as you make progress. You should also use the investor picker to expose your startup to more investors.
How much does AngelList cost?
It's free.
How are the investors on AngelList verified?
All the investors have stated that they are either accredited investors. The vast majority of the investors on the site have also made several angel investments. If you don't like an investor, you can remove them in the investor picker. Finally, you should verify that every investor you take money from is accredited, whether or not you use AngelList. If you can't do that, don't use AngelList.
Incubators
My company is in an incubator that isn't on the list. Can you add it?
Someone from the incubator needs to create a profile and send us the URL, then we'll add it to the list.
I manage an incubator. How do I make an incubator profile and get added to the incubator list?
You need to create a profile for the incubator. Make sure you're not logged in to AngelList. Then do the following:
- Go to http://angel.co/join to create a profile.
- Provide the name of the incubator, email address, and password.
- On the "Get Started" page, click the "I'm just browsing" link.
- Add location, a logo, and other details to the profile.
- List some of the incubated companies in the Investments section.
- Then, send an email to incubators@angel.co and we'll add you to the list

Why is my profile showing up in search engine results?
User profiles and public sections of startup profiles are available to the general public and will be crawled by search engines. Protected sections of startup profiles, such as fundraising information, are never crawled and are only visible to people you select.
Why doesn't AngelList work with Internet Explorer or my browser?
If you're having trouble, try using Chrome—we do most of our testing in Chrome.
How do I become a scout?
Scouts are deprecated—they've been replaced by "referrers". Just tell the startups you refer to add you as the referrer. Or add yourself as the referrer of the startups you've referred—look in the bottom right corner of the startup profile.
Who do I contact if you haven't answered my question yet?
Email team@angel.co with questions. But first read this page to see if it answers your question.
