Beauty. Value. Fun. Open minds. Sophistication. Inspiration. Simplicity.
The most impressive was an AJAX web app framework before AJAX existed (yeah, I am one of those devs) which became instrumental in the success of The Epsilon Group. It resulted in international deals each worth over multiple $M over several years. Customers loved it, it looked nice and it worked great. Lots of JavaScript, XML, CSS and even more IE quirks.
The most crazy was an MMX implementation of a real-time graphics filter in x86 assembly which I taught myself in a couple of days. Before that I had only done C++ on the PC.
The most playful was a remake of vintage arcade game Ghosts 'n Goblins where I assembled a team of designers and musicians (and get them to work together!). We were featured in GameFan magazine. http://www.retrofx.com
The best girl geek magnet? My home brew VR system - it got me 2 dates (not simultaneously). I always wondered if it was my electronics or the "PowerGlove" that did the trick.
