I am an early stage venture investor focusing on seed stage opportunities opportunities. For nearly the last 6 years, I've been a full-time venture investor in pre-seed through Series C companies. I spent just under 3 years at Deep Fork Capital, making pre-seed and seed investments in the Bay Area and NYC. Most recently, I was at Anchorage Capital Group, a hedge fund in NYC, which focuses principally on growth stage investing when evaluating private companies. At Anchorage, I made Series A through Series C investments. Prior to investing full-time, I led business development and partnerships at Wanelo, and co-led By/Association, an angel investor group, which made three investments.
I joined Wanelo as the first business hire after graduating from Harvard Business School. During those two years, I worked remotely as Chris Sacca's part-time associate at Lowercase Capital, doing whatever I could to learn the business from him and assisting portfolio companies like Twitter, Uber, StyleSeat, and Gumroad. Prior to business school, I worked as an investment banking analyst at Jefferies.
Looking Glass will invest against the themes of healthier living, human capital, and sustainability and the environment. These investments will typically be in seed stage companies, but occasionally could be later.
I target companies which I can have an immediate impact on given my previous operating and investing experience, and I will only back companies that have a strong founder-product fit.
My deal flow typically comes from intros to founders from entrepreneurs I've worked with or backed before, seed funds that I frequently speak with, or from founders reaching out to me because of previous investing / operating experience that resonates with them.
If a founder allows me to invest, I will make it available to my syndicate. My investment decision is made only after thorough due diligence on the team, market, product, and company itself.
