PlatinDx, a diagnostic assay for predicting which patients will respond to platinum-based chemotherapy.
Patients are given 1% of the therapeutic dose (a microdose), followed by quantitation of drug-DNA adducts in left-over biopsy tissue using accelerator mass spectrometry. This technology enables detection of drug uptake, drug-DNA damage and other phenotypic markers prior to initiation of chemotherapy.
